Classic or electric bikes? What do bicycle shops offer?

If beautiful, sunny weather isn't enough to tempt you to ride a bike, the fast-approaching vacation should be your motivator. Why is that? Well, because you'll finally have to show off in a swimsuit and bare your legs, tummy, and the body hidden away all winter. And a bicycle is a wonderful way not only for family relaxation, but also as a tool for working on your physical condition, health, and appearance.

What should you pay attention to when visiting a bike shop in search of the right option for yourself?

During a long bike ride, any extra weight or mismatch between the saddle, height, and dimensions of the bike and our body can be a source of pain, uncontrolled strain, and even injury. Therefore, it is very important that our purchase is made in the presence of a professional salesperson who knows their stuff and will choose the optimal version of the two-wheeler. First, we must decide on the purpose of our equipment. If we want to pedal short distances from our apartment to a small shop or to work, let's choose a city bike. If we intend to ramp up longer distances, a road bike will be a good option. And when mountain conquests and riding along previously unknown bumpy and rocky forest paths tempt us, let's decide to buy a mountain bike.

Alternative to regular bicycles

Nowadays, it has become very popular on the market electric bikes. They are distinguished from classic bicycles primarily by an additionally mounted electric motor that assists the cyclist's work when riding longer distances or in terrain with numerous hills. Such a function should be important for elderly and ailing people who, to maintain a high state of vitality, should move and care for activity, but without significant strains that could threaten their health and life. However, such a solution is not recommended for young and physically active people, because what kind of joy is there from a workout if the work was done for us by the bike – the electric motor rather than muscle power.

Planned effort

Once we have the appropriate pedaling equipment, we can hit the road. To begin with, do a final bicycle service, check the lighting, and purchase footwear – preferably with a stiff sole, a helmet, and possibly cycling shorts with a pad to cushion the hardness of the saddle. Before our body strengthens and gets used to the proper workload on the bike, it is worth planning the first trips modestly, so as not to get sore muscles, chafing right at the start, and above all, not to get discouraged from riding.

electric bikes
As an avid cyclist, based on my own experience, I must attest that the cycling hobby is a bug that, once caught, never lets you forget it. A bike is not only an interesting means of transportation on routes from point A to point B, but also a cool way to organize longer rides to explore and discover new areas. If you already have a towbar for transporting equipment on your car, you can travel by bike along the beach, on mountain trails, and in many cities on specially created cultural and regional heritage trails. In a word, everyone can find something useful for themselves in this adventure.
