Nowy Sącz is a beautiful Polish city that is crowded with tourists every year. In this place, you can count on both active recreation and blissful laziness surrounded by nature. When planning a holiday in Nowy Sącz, it is worth taking a close look at which tourist attractions are noteworthy. What to see in this city? Which proposals are eagerly chosen by tourists?

Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

The church is located at a busy intersection and is sometimes called the railway church. Interestingly, it was built in the years 1897-1898 and since then it has been attracting enormous interest among the faithful. It is a must-see spot on the map of Nowy Sącz that is well worth visiting!

Train station

It turns out that Nowy Sącz can be reached by train. This provides an opportunity to take a look at the railway station, which was renovated between 2013 and 2014. The beautiful railway station is decorated with a checkered floor and with electronic boards and the history of the station.

Murals in Nowy Sącz

Another proposal is unique murals painted by the artist Mgr Mors. An example is the mural Kłopotów Housing Estate, or the Carpathians Offer Festival. It is worth visiting Master Mors' website and finding the most interesting murals that stay in your memory for a long time. They are designed to decorate the beautiful city and point to various events.

Planty

Nowy Sącz Plant Park is a small park that has undergone revitalization and delights visitors with its surroundings. We have numerous benches at our disposal, and we can admire boulders and oaks that commemorate respected residents of the city. A sculpture of dancing couples, depicting children from folk ensembles, immediately catches the eye. On warm days, many people who want to get some fresh air spend time in the park.

Old Cemetery

The important thing is that the Old Cemetery in Nowy Sącz was active between 1785 and 1885. It is one of the most important monuments of the city, but unfortunately, few old tombstones have been preserved. Mainly mass graves and monuments are located here, which remind us of the residents of Nowy Sącz and those fallen in World War II. A chapel dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was erected in the cemetery.

Church of St. Casimir

This church is located at the intersection of Jan Długosz and Tadeusz Kościuszko streets. It was built between 1908 and 1912, according to the design of Teodor Talowski. It is called a school chapel because In the old days, masses for students from the local town were held here. Both from the outside and the inside, the temple looks very nice.

Great Synagogue

In the past, there was a Jewish quarter in Nowy Sącz. What remains of it is the Great Synagogue, representing a valuable monument of the city.

St. Helena's Church

The wooden church of St. Helena is another place worth seeing in Nowy Sącz. This is a cemetery church, which was created in 1686.

Unique shrines

In Nowy Sącz, there are as many as a dozen or so shrines. The most famous is the chapel of St. Mark, also known as the Swedish chapel. It is located on the busy Tadeusza Kościuszki Street, near the promenade.

This is the second Jewish cemetery in this city. Its establishment dates back to the 19th century, and in later years it was expanded.
